Vale Lodge is a listed property which was built over 300 years ago, and was extended extensively over the years. The last works occurred in the 1980s by building a large extension at the back. The property was in need of careful restoration and updating. The outdated bathroom suites were modernised including custom designed pieces to accommodate the characterful dimensions of the rooms. Flooring was replaced completely on the first floor, and restored on the ground floor.
The existing parquet floor was paid particular attention in the living room. The original timber windows were all restored and repaired, some of which had been painted shut. Behind the scenes the plumbing and electrical were all brought up to date, including the mini filter unit in the attic which treats the natural spring water which services the house.
